Lenovo Says It Intends To Add Other Models That Target Students

Lenovo has gone into the netbook business with a one-inch-deep 2lb XP-based Atom IdeaPad S10 with a 10.2-inch screen.

The company says it intends to add other models that target students.

The widget can be had in black, white or glossy ruby red.

The screen is backlit, the keyboard is 85% the size of your average keyboard; the unit’s got Wi-Fi and an optional Express Card for high-speed mobile broadband; and a standard web cam.

There are two models: one with 512MB of memory and an 80GB drive and the other with 1GB of memory and a 160GB drive.

The laptop will be available in early October starting at $399.
