Jonathan Schwartz Gets a Part-Time Gig

It must be a tough business to be in in the middle of a jobless recovery

Jonathan Schwartz, Sun’s pig-tailed former CEO, the guy who ostensibly sold the company to Oracle, has joined the board of Taleo, the $200 million-a-year California company with the cloud-based on-demand talent management solutions.

Seems it must be a tough business to be in in the middle of a jobless recovery but the publicly traded Taleo claims to be on a “fast-growth trajectory.”

It prizes Schwartz (pictured) because of Sun’s early cloud attempts.

It has also put former Business Objects CFO Jim Tolonen on the board. Tolonen, who once worked for Novell, got a lot of M&A experience at Business Objects before it went to SAP.

Taleo claims 4,500 customers, including 49 of the Fortune 100. Its Talent Grid cloud community is supposed to harness the expertise of its customers and more than 200 million candidates and 100 partners and industry experts.
