First Result of Collaboration With Zentek

TOKYO, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the recently announced collaboration with Zentek Technology Group, Beko Elektronik is pleased to announce it will be showing a Multimedia Home Platform (MHP) demonstration at the IFA show in Berlin, 2nd to 7th September 2005. This is the first result of the collaboration between the two companies, and Beko Elektronik expects significant interest at the show.

The initial, fully integrated platform consists of an NEC Electronics EMMArchitecture2LL (EMMA2LL) processor (product number micronPD6111x) running Nucleus Plus, the Skelmir VM, and Zentek MediaStack MHP middleware.

"In addition to promoting our existing, extensive range of products and solutions for the TV and set-top box (STB) markets, IFA will be an ideal opportunity to present our MHP developments and capabilities to our existing customers, and engage with new customers looking for solutions in the MHP arena," said Mr. Erem Demircan, Vice President of Marketing-Sales for Beko Elektronik.

"Since engaging with Beko Elektronik, our respective engineering teams in Zentek's San Mateo, California facility and Beko Elektronik's Izmir, Turkey location, have been working closely together," said Mr. Shozo Ohtani, President of Zentek. "With additional support of Skelmir in Boston we have, in a relatively short period of time, been able to develop the integrated demonstration that will be on shown at IFA. This activity forms the foundation platform for Beko Elektronik to take customer engagements forward to future product releases."

Beko Elektronik will be showing the demonstration in their booth at IFA - Hall 10.2/101. The demonstration can also bee seen at IBC, 9th to 13th September 2005 in the NEC Electronics (Europe) GmbH booth - 1.230.
